Each year, we receive 500+ applications for 28 seats at our residential school. To expand the impact of our work and reach more underserved children, we have created a second Shanti Bhavan school. Shanti Bhavan 2 opened its doors in July 2024 to two new classes – Preschool and Kindergarten!

By becoming a Founding Friend, you give these children the education they deserve, while helping us expand the campus for them as they grow and learn.

About Us

Shanti Bhavan

Shanti Bhavan is a residential school for socioeconomically disadvantaged children in India. Our school has been featured in the Netflix docuseries Daughters of Destiny, as well as on the Discovery Channel and ABC World News, and in books and periodicals such as Thomas Friedman’s The World Is Flat. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty for India’s most disenfranchised children by providing them with a complete holistic education. Our intervention begins at the age of four and continues through college and into their careers with companies such as Amazon, Goldman Sachs, and Mercedes-Benz.
